Notes on gold fill; The gold is 1/20 14K gold. 14 = karats and the 20 refers to the % of gold in an item. 1/20 = 5% gold. The base metal is brass, which makes for a durable and warm mix. 14k Gold Fill has apx 100 times more gold than gold plate, and doesn't wear off as plate or vermeil will eventually, given sufficient time.
